Several key design publications and influencers have focused on the interior design trends that will lead into next year. We see big changes coming in interior treatments already. Better Homes and Gardens focused on the 8 that we think are most prevalent (link to their article here) but focus on our favorites below.
Which trend inspires you to give your home an update for 2022? Let us know in the comments. We love to hear your thoughts!
1. Shades of Green
This color is in our logo because we can’t get enough of green. It’s versatile (ranging from clear from earthy/organic…all the way to regal). According to several interior experts, it’s beginning to edge out blue as the favorite color. We’re all in on this trend! Can you see green making an appearance in your interior soon?
At a minimum, plants can bring lush and varied greens into your décor. Our favorites are low-maintenance plants that thrive inside. We use them on end tables and to fill out corners and spaces between furniture.
2. Warm Neutrals
We’ve been seeing things shift away from cool tones into the warmer, more inviting shades. This is another trend we can definitely get on board with. We’ve already been incorporating it into designs that result in a comforting, harmonious feel. For some who want to hold onto favorite pieces, we are successfully blending by picking up and strengthening the warmer tones, as shown below.
3. Mixing Vintage and New
Our favorite part about this trend is that it truly allows individuals to represent the many aspects of their personalities within their decor. It also allows the freedom to showcases heirloom pieces, super cool vintage finds and more…without having to redo your entire home.
4. Local and Sustainably Sourced Furnishings
As a small business who has been in Metro Detroit for over 20 years, we take great effort to support the businesses that surround us. Increasingly, we prioritize sustainably sourced furnishings, art and accents (which are happily becoming more readily available). We work with a diverse set of local artists and artisans who create pieces in every type of medium, as well as furniture.
